This stage focuses on developing a detailed understanding of your tastes, aspirations and problems you wish to resolve in order to provide you with an accurate fee proposal.

Here you will meet Zoe in-person to discuss your requirements in situ and she will see the space you wish to transform. Following this visit you will be sent an outline brief and a detailed fee proposal for the remaining work required to create your place.

This on-site consultation is chargeable; however, if you proceed with a fee proposal, then the visit fee is deducted from your final payment.

Once you have instructed Zoe to proceed, the project will enter the site analysis phase. The aim of this phase is to gather the correct information in order to develop a detailed and sensitive understanding of your site. This work informs the design at all levels, reducing the likelihood of unforeseen and expensive challenges during construction and improving plant success.

If you don’t have one to hand, a topographic survey will be arranged. Professional soil analysis will also be undertaken alongside an ecological review of your site.

Once the site analysis is concluded, the concept phase begins. The aim of this phase is to settle on the layout and overall visual concept for your new place. 

It is an iterative process during which you will be sent sketch layout proposals and visual boards for comment. Zoe will then refine these into a concept layout plan, with accompanying three dimensional sketches/computer models and visual boards. 

At the end of this phase you will meet with Zoe to discuss these documents. At this meeting you will be able to discuss any final changes you may wish to make to the layout before the spatial plan is finalised.

Once the concept proposal has been approved by you, it is progressed into a detailed design. Exact hard landscaping materials and structural planting, such as new trees and hedges, will be chosen with you and specified and a full to scale masterplan produced.

Artistic impressions of the final design can also be commissioned, such as hand perspective drawing(s) or architectural models, to help you further visualise the final proposal.

Once the detailed design has been finalised, Zoe will produce the technical drawings and accompanying specification text to build the design. This information is compiled into a tender pack, so a landscape contractor can accurately cost and build the design.

Depending on your requirements Zoe can then introduce you to a trusted contractor or oversee a tender process to obtain estimates for the build. These will then be sent to you for consideration.

Plants are integral to any outdoor space. Once the layout and hard landscaping have been finalised, Zoe will work with you to create the planting, painting the landscape with life.

Here she will send you visual boards for comment. She will then send you a long list of possible plants for your consideration and feedback. Based on your feedback she will then produce a series of detailed planting plans and visual boards for each area of the garden. These plans communicate the number and location of each plant in your space.

Once the design is finalised and your contractor selected, Zoe will then further smooth the process by supporting you through the construction phase. She will be on hand to help problem solve any unforeseen challenges and resolve discrepancies before they become large challenges. She can also support you with garden styling and supply furnishings, pots and other items at preferential rates.

Services are tailored to your requirements but can range from site visits at key milestones to weekly on-site minuted meetings.

Once the initial hard landscaping is done, Zoe and her planting team will then supply and plant the garden.

Zoe will source plants for you at preferential rates from trusted suppliers, hand selecting specimen shrubs and trees. Her team will then plant the garden to give your plants the best start in life.

Zoe provides this service as she is invested in ensuring the plants will establish well and that the supply chains used value the environment and biodiversity.

At the end of the installation you will receive a bespoke growing plan for your garden and can arrange monitoring visits.
