Turning your outdoor space into a meaningful place

Zoe Claymore is a multi award-winning garden and landscape designer creating beautiful, meaningful gardens across South West London, Surrey and beyond. Based beside the River Thames in Teddington, her studio of three designs landscapes that feel personal, immersive and deeply connected to both the people who use them and the environment they sit within.

At the heart of the studio is a simple belief: gardens should do more than look good. They should be good.

Good for the people who use them, creating a stage for everyday moments that enrich life, whether that's morning coffee among flowers, children discovering nature, summer gatherings with friends or a quiet encounter with a bumblebee at the end of a busy day. They should also be good for the wider world. Every garden is designed to support biodiversity, strengthen ecological resilience and encourage construction practices that minimise environmental impact. Wherever possible, the studio embraces regenerative principles, creating landscapes that contribute more than they consume.

Every project begins by understanding how clients want to live outdoors, whether that's creating space for family life, entertaining friends, growing food, supporting wildlife or simply finding a moment of calm in a busy world. This understanding is combined with expertise in planting, ecology, material selection and spatial design to create gardens that balance beauty, biodiversity and everyday practicality.

Rather than treating gardens as static compositions, Zoe and her team design living landscapes that evolve naturally over time. The studio works primarily throughout Richmond, Kingston and Elmbridge, providing garden and planting design, planting installation and ongoing garden stewardship. Larger commissions are considered throughout the UK.

Alongside private commissions, Zoe has designed award-winning gardens for The Wildlife Trusts at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show and RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival. In 2023, she was named an RHS Horticultural Hero for her work encouraging gardening among people living in rented accommodation and those without access to outdoor space.

Beyond the studio, Zoe is an Ambassador for the National Allotment Society and serves on the Council of the Society of Garden and Landscape Designers, helping oversee the Garden Design Journal.
