Zoe Claymore New Ambassador for the National Allotment Society
Autumn 2023 I am thrilled to announce that I have become an Ambassador for the National Allotment Society. This role is a wonderful opportunity to share my passion for improving access to gardening and to support the vital work of this esteemed organisation.
With my background as a designer, and many years spent growing in kitchen gardens, I hope to bring a wealth of experience in designing gardens for growing. My first ever professional design after all, was for an allotment bed for RHS Hampton Court back in 2021. My aim in this role is to offer practical tips and inspiration to help people make the most of their outdoor spaces, for themselves and for mother nature. I am also developing my own allotment, and you can follow my journey on Instagram at @my.rented.garden. I have written an article for the next membership magazine and am currently sharing my knowledge through a video series, "How to Plan Your Plot," available on social media and my YouTube channel.

Winning the 2023 Gold Medal, Best Get Started Garden, and People’s Choice Award at the RHS Hampton Court Flower Show has been then highlight of my career so far. Now, as a National Allotment Society Ambassador, I look forward to contributing even more to the gardening community - highlighting that ownership should not be a barrier to growing.
The National Allotment Society has been protecting, promoting, and preserving allotments for future generations since the early 20th century. Their work with government, councils, associations, and other stakeholders ensures that allotments remain valuable community assets, boosting health and wellbeing, providing sustainable growing spaces, and creating biodiverse green corridors.
I am excited to support their mission and to help spread the word about the benefits of allotment gardening. Together, we can ensure that allotments continue to thrive for generations to come.
