Part-Time Garden Designer/Landscape Architect

Hi Folks - I’m looking for a Garden Designer or Landscape Architect to join me on a part-time basis to help out with some exciting project work. This is mostly remote to start, with the chance to pop into my Teddington studio a few times a month. You’ll also need to be on-site regularly in central London this May (2025) and later in the year down in the West Country.

If you’re passionate about creating beautiful, meaningful landscapes with a lower carbon footprint - I’d love to hear from you! This role could suit a career changer with a strong PM/ admin background or a landscape architect/ garden designer with a few years project experience.

This role is offered initially on a freelance basis.

What You’ll Be Doing:

RHS Show Garden & Legacy Project:

  • Helping with admin, logistics, and liaising with stakeholders for The Wildlife Trusts’: British Rainforest Garden at RHS Chelsea (including managing the RHS portal).

  • Supporting on-site coordination during the build – think planting deliveries, team support, and keeping everything running smoothly.

  • Assisting with the redesign and delivery of the garden's relocation - project coordination and drawings - working with key stakeholders to create a lasting legacy.

Private Residential Projects:

  • Supporting residential garden projects from start to finish: doing site analysis, building 3D models, drawing up concept designs, creating 3D renders, and client presentations.

  • Helping source plants and materials.

General Studio/Admin:

  • Researching materials, ordering samples, and pitching in with other bits and bobs when needed.

About You:
Must-Haves:

  • A degree or diploma in Landscape/Garden Design or Landscape Architecture.

  • 2+ years’ experience in project management/administration (ideally in landscape but others considered)

  • Strong skills in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Vectorworks (preferred or AutoCAD considered), and Microsoft Office.

  • A clean UK driving licence.

Ideal candidate would also have:

  • Experience in designing and delivering landscape projects in public realm and in working in multidisciplinary teams.

  • Knowledge of RHS shows processes and procedures

  • Good plant knowledge and technical detailing skills

What I Offer:

  • Flexible hours and remote working with occasional studio visits. If you’d prefer to work in the office more often open to exploring this.

  • Competitive pay based on your experience.

  • The chance to work on meaningful, high-profile projects.

How to Apply:

Email your CV, portfolio (under 10MB), and a quick cover letter to enquiries@zoeclaymore.com

I’ll be reviewing applications ongoing- likely reaching out to shortlisted candidates by 7th February.

Thanks for considering.
